Aged Pioneer Mrs Elizabeth Buckler, living north of town, was found dead in her yard, Friday September 30th, 1910, at the age of 86Y 9M 11D, her Body found by son James and grandson, Irvin Buckler. Elizabeth Ellis was born in Bracken county, Kentucky, on December 10, 1823, and married to Harvey Buckler in 1846, and 3 years later moved to Vermillion county, Indiana. In 1854, they came west to Iowa, settling in Mahaska county. Parents of 2 sons, James W and Joseph, dying in his 27th year. The husband Harvey died September 17, 1893. Her siblings Tom Ellis and Mrs Wm Brown both live on Sand Ridge. Burial family lot in Highland Cemetery.
