Mrs Jane Gardner, an old settler of this locality, living south of town, passed away at the age of 77years. She was born in Ireland, but lived in this vicinity for about 50 years.. She was the mother of Hugh Johnson, Knoxville; James and Joe Johnson, Mrs Wm Gardner, Mrs Ed Chapman and Miss Mary Johnson all living south of town. Burial Highland Cemetery.
