Charles Nute, retired Ottumwa plant employee, passed away September 28 at the age of 83 years. Mr Nute retired March 25, 1940 because of his age and condition of health. Joining the Ottumwa organization on November 29, 1922, his service had been continuous until the time of his retirement. He started with the Roustabout department and was transferred to the team and tractor department three months later. He continued with that department until retirement. Mr Nute was born in Plymouth, England, March 17, 1860, coming to this country when he was 21 years old. He lived in Ottumwa the past 21 years. Group life insurance benefits of $500 were paid to his wife, Ruth. Our Sympathies. - Morrell Magazine, October 1943.
