Mrs. Mary McConaha, 81, a resident of Ottumwa for the past 43 years, died at 8:57 p.m. Tuesday at her home 750 West Mechanic street. She was born May 24, 1863 in Putnam county, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Newman. She is survived by three sons, C. Frank McConaha, Fred and Albert F. McConaha, all of Ottumwa, 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her husband Abraham McConaha died in 1928 and she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Minnie Adams, and by seven brothers, one of whom, Willis Newman, died June 1, 1944.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. Malvin H. Lundeen, pastor of the First Lutheran church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
