Native Of Wapello County Dies At 83
Willoughby Wyatt, 83, of 521 South Moore street, died at the University hospital in Iowa City at 6 p.m. Saturday. Born in Wapello county near Ormanville, August 14, 1861, the son of Edwin and Zelpha Wyatt, he had resided in this county his entire life and had lived in Ottumwa for many years. Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Verna Haler, Ottumwa and five sons, Orval Wyatt, Indianapolis, Indiana, Cecil H. Wyatt, Shelbina, Missouri, Basil S. Wyatt and Delbert A. Wyatt, both of Paris, Missouri and Teddy D. Wyatt of Indianapolis, Indiana. Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva in August 1942; also, by one son, Mellville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E.L. Frost pastor of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Torrence, Albert Terrence, Lee Phillips, Ray Phillips, Jesse Phillips and Bob Leon.
