Word has been received by Mrs. Elmer Kendall of 302 North Iowa avenue of the death of her father, Shepherd D. Wait, former Ottumwan, at 3 a.m. today at Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Leah, who died May 11, 1934 and one grandson, Donald who died in 1936. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Helen Kendall of Ottumwa and Mrs. Ruby Webb of Des Moines: three sons, Earl O. of Fort Dodge, William H. Glendale, California, and Franck C. of Elgin, Illinois, and 10 grandchildren. The body will be brought to Ottumwa today and will be removed to Johnson’s funeral chapel. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Funeral services for Shepherd D. Wait, former Ottumwa who died Thursday at Des Moines, will be held at the East End Presbyterian church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Edward D. Byrd. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. There will be Masonic services at the grave. The casket will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel until noon Saturday when it will be taken to the church and closed at the beginning of the service. He was a member of the University Church of Christ at Des Moines, of the Star No. 115, Madrid A.F. & A.M. and O.E.S. at Madrid.
