Ed Memefee, 51, died at his home, 1007 East Second street, at 8:05 p.m. Friday. He was born in Washington county, Iowa, January 26, 1893. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are his wife, Mildred, a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Blomquist of Vincent, Iowa; two sons Phillip, who is serving in the merchant marine, and Junior, who is with the Navy stationed at San Bruns California, and one stepson, Raymond Eugene Memefee of Ottumwa. Also surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Ida Tarr, Red Oak: Mrs. Eliza Riley, Mrs. C.D. James, Mrs. Minnie Morgan and Mrs. Georgia Bidwell, all of Brighton and Mrs. Ada Yeusnac, Erie, Pennsylvania and two brothers, Henry of Crawfordsville and Reuben of Emerson. The body will remain at the Lester Jay funeral home until funeral arrangements have been completed. Funeral services for Ed Menefee, who died Friday evening at his home at 1007 East Second street, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Lester Jay funeral home. The Rev. L.E. Welshons will be in charge and burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from members of the Eagles club.
