Mrs. Opal B. Snook, 45, of 309 East Manning avenue, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph hospital. Mrs. Snook was a member of the American Legion auxiliary and was an active worker in many community activities. She was born near Kirkville October 10, 1898 the daughter of A.S and Louisa Fairchild. She is survived by her husband, Israel M. Snook, her mother, Mrs. Louisa Fairchild of Ottumwa, one sister, Mrs. Will Kosman of Ottumwa and three brothers., Dr. S.R. Fairchild of Columbus, Ohio, Carl Fairchild and Manley Fairchild both of Ottumwa. The body is at the Lester Jay funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. I.M. Snook who died Wednesday evening will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Harold Roberts, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The body will remain at the Snook residence, 309 East Manning avenue until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the funeral home.
