Ed M. Wilson Dies At Age Of 75 Years
Ed. M. Wilson, 75, whose home was at East Maple avenue, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the St. Joseph hospital. The son of Henry C. and Lucy Wilson, he was born February 8, 1868 in Wapello county and spent his lifetime in the county. After leaving the home farm, in the present Naval Air station community. Mr. Wilson for a number of years operated a barbershop in Ottumwa. Survivors are his wife, Frances, a brother, Fay, of Ottumwa; also, two nieces, Mrs. O.H. Michael, Hobson, Montana. Mr. Wilson was a member of the First Presbyterian church, and for many years was active in Masonic and odd Fellow circles. His memberships were in Empire lodge 269, of the Masons, and Ottumwa lodge No. 9, I.O.O.F. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Lester Jay funeral home, the Rev. Richard F. Graebel, D.D. of the First Presbyterian church, in charge. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery, with Masonic services at the grave.
