Vernice McDonough, 15-year-old adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David McDonough, 1001 West Sherman street, died at the St. Joseph’s hospital at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday. She was a student at the Hedrick school and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church. Surviving are her foster parents, her mother, Mrs. Hazel Crutchfield, Ottumwa; two half-sisters, Madelyn Doggett and Roberta Doggett, both of Ottumwa; one half-brother, Oble Crutchfield, Ottumwa, and her grandmothers, Mrs. Margaret McDonough and Mrs. Theresa Lowe, both of Ottumwa. Shout funeral services will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and at the St. Mary’s Catholic church at 9 a.m., the requiem high mass to be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh, V.F. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
