Virgil Thomas Thompson, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Thompson of 506 Meadows street, died at 9:25 p.m. Sunday at the Ottumwa hospital. He was born October 14, 1923 and was a member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. church. He is survived besides his parents, but two brothers, Richland and Gaylord; and by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Davis; three aunts; Mrs. Myrtle Anderson, Mrs. Beulah Hayes and Mrs. Gladys Junkins; a cousin David Williams, all of Ottumwa; a grandmother, Mrs. Lydia Muckroy, and six aunts and uncles, all of Kansas City, Kansas.
Funeral services for Virgil Thomas Thompson who died Sunday evening at the Ottumwa hospital, will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Henry J. Parker, pastor of the Mt. Zion A.M.E. church, assisted by the Rev. William M. Shaw of the Second Baptist church. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be J.J. LaMaster, Charles Clayton, Calin Hicks, Jack Williams, Lawrence Doolin and Norman Lintz.
