Mrs. Nettie M. Hicks, 81, died at the home of her brother-in-law M.A. James, 506 West Fourth about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday after two years of failing health. She was the daughter of John and Martha KcKinnie and was born in Abingdon, Illinois, September 9, 1862. Her husband W.W. Hicks died in July 1941 and she was also preceded in death by four sisters. She made her home with Mr. James after her husbands’ death. Besides her brother-in-law, she is survived by two stepsons, Stanley Hicks of Fairfield and Quincy Hicks of Highland Center, and four nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Community funeral chapel Friday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Lloyd C. Snyder of the West End Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
