Mrs. Emma B. Avery, 65, died at 7:05 a.m. today at her home, Ottumwa route 6. She was born October 24, 1877 near Richland, the daughter of Arthur and Medora Barron and had lived in Keokuk township for the past 22 years. She is survived by her husband, Charles Avery, and two sons Herbert Avery of Ottumwa, route 6, and Glen Avery of Ottumwa. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Donald and Marilyn Avery, and by one sister and a brother, John Barron of Hedrick, route 1 and Mrs. Dewey Hudson of Batavia, route 2. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending the completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Erma B. Avery, who died Friday morning at her home of route 6, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. C.R. Reed. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The pallbearers will be Venette Mooney, William Wright, Gail Bodgett, Charles Rose, Fred McElroy and Harry McMillen.
