Frank Pearl Dixon, 57, died at 11:15 a.m. today at his home at 237 Fairview avenue. He had been a carpenter for the Burlington railroad, but worked hast last day on February 18, 1939, when he was forced to retire because of ill health. He was born November 25, 1885, in Jefferson county the son of Joseph and Letha Dixon. The family move to Ottumwa when he was a child and he had lived here since. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Dixon; a son Albert Dixon of Ottumwa, and two stepsons, Rice Evans, West Des Moines, and Oscar Evans, Davenport. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Delia Staten of Ottumwa and Miss Florence Dixon of Glenwood. The body is at the Carroll Reece funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for the Frank Pearl Dixon, who died at his home 237 Fairview avenue at 11:15 Tuesday morning will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the home conducted by the Rev. Charles E. McDowell assisted by the Rev. Lester Flactiff. The body has been removed from the Carroll Reece funeral home to the residence where it will remain until after the services. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery with a member of the S.B.A. in charge at the grave.
