John Styre Dies While Plowing Garden
John A. Styre, 37, of 155 North Moore street, died suddenly of a heart attack at 10:30 a.m. today while plowing a garden at 1030 Tuttle street. He was born My 8, 1905, in Ottumwa and had lived here all his life. He was the son of Samuel and Lila N. Styre, Ottumwa, who survive him. He was a member of the Eagles lodge No. 114. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Esther; two sisters Marie Holland, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Dorothy Lancey, Fremont, Nebraska; a niece Ardena M. Gallaher, Ottumwa, and an Uncle Dan A. Styre, Ottumwa. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of arrangements.
Funeral services for John A. Styre, 155 North Moore street, who died suddenly Monday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Herbert A. Keck, D.D. of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the home, 155, North Moore street, today and will be returned to the chapel at noon Wednesday and will be closed at the beginning of the service. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Franklin, Elmer Robinson, Arthur Carpenter, Arthur Channel, David A. Nevin and John Maring.
