Mrs. Dora Tipton, 74, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Angle of route 6. She was born December 1, 1868, in Ohio, the daughter of James and Eliza Murphy. She was married in 1887 to John Nelson Tipton who died April 10, 1925. She is survived by the following children; Glenn Tipton, Wapato, Washington, June Tipton, Omaha; Madeline Hodges, Eldon, Jim Tipton, Iowa City, Doris Angle, Ottumwa; Victor Tipton, Louisiana, Missouri, and one stepson Lute Tipton, Aurora, Illinois. She is also survived by two brothers, James M. Murphy of Eldon and Charles Murphy of Glendale, California, and by two sisters, Nellie DeRoulet, and Minette Puritan both of California, and by seven grandchildren. She joined the Christian church in 1890 and was a member of the First Christian church here at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Harold Roberts. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
