Veteran Railroad Machinist Is Dead
Perry E. Wright, 65, of 1902 West Chester avenue, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday at the St. Joseph hospital. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 43 years and for 25 years he had been an employee of the Milwaukee railroad here and was a member of the machinist’s local. He was the son of Isaac and Charlotta Wright and was born August 21, 1877, in Macon Missouri. He was married February 14, 1901 to Myrtle Whipple, who survives him. He is also survived by one son. Louis Wright of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and two grandchildren. Luann Wright and Charles Perry Wright. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E.L. Frost of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Fellow workmen will serve as pallbearers.
