Mrs. Gertrude Burnstedt, 58, year old widow of Charles A. Burnstedt who died just one month ago, died at 7:50 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital. Their home was near Chillicothe and they had operated a dairy. Mrs. Burnstedt was born May 9, 1886, in Wapello county the daughter of Albert and Emma Johnson and she had lived near Chillicothe for the past 20 years. She was married March 31, 1907, in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was a member of the Munterville Lutheran church. She is survived by the following children; Mrs. Dorothy Lockridge, Freeport, Illinois, Miss Marie Burnstedt, at home; George Burnstedt, Chillicothe, and Oliver Burnstedt, Ottumwa. She is also survived by four grandchildren and by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Allice Rupert, Albia; Mrs. Clara Carlson and Mrs. Ida Betron, both of Midland, Michigan Mrs. Lena Anderson, Blacksburg route 2, Fred L. Johnson, Des Moines, Elliott E. Johnson, Flint Michigan, and Vendel N. Johnson, Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Burnstedt, of near Chillicothe, who died at the St. Joseph hospital early Monday, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Munterville Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. J.G. Swedburg. Burial will be in Munterville cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the residence late this afternoon and will be taken to the church at on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Thomas Streicher, Alfred Peterson, Ollie Anderson, Ernest W. Johnson Clarence Johnson and Chester Johnson.
