Native Of County Dies At Age Of 90
William K. Wallace, 90, life-long resident of Wapello county, died at 10 p.m. Sunday at his home on Ottumwa route 4, a quarter mile south of the city. He was the son of Jesse and Nancy Wallace and was born in Wapello county June 28, 1852. He married to Sarah Jane Shadley March 25, 1875. She died November 6, 1930. Survivors include a son, W.F. Wallace, Ottumwa route 6, four grandchildren, Howard Wallace, Mike Hampshire, William A. Hampshire and Mrs. Ina Berry, and three great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Clara Hampshire. He was a member of I.O.O.F. lodge No. 9.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. There will be and Odd Fellow service at the grave.
