Miss Clare Brady Taken By Death
Miss Clare Zita Brady, 58, of 350 North Marion street, died at 5:50 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital following a short illness. She was born July 2, 1887, at 501 North Court street, the youngest child of the late Patrick and Catherine Brady. She received her education in the public schools here and was graduated from the Ottumwa high school in 1905. Later she attended the Ottumwa Business College. For 20 years when she was employed in the office of city engineer of this city, and for the past nine and one half years she had been secretary in the office of Quinn & Brady. Her parents, seven sisters and one brother preceded her in death. Surviving are one brother, John T. Brady, four nieces Kathryn A. Brady, Rosa C. Brady, Mary Louise Brady and Mrs. Walter E. South; one nephew, John T. Brady Jr. and a grandniece and grandnephew, Ross C. Smith and John T. Smith all of Ottumwa. The body will remain at the Moroney funeral home until about 3 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the home of her brother, John T. Brady at 340 North Marion street. The funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic church, of which she was a lifelong member. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Funeral services for Miss Clare Brady, who died Friday morning at the St. Joaeph hospital, will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church when the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. pastor will celebrate a solemn requiem high mass, attended by the Rev James A. Brady pastor of St. Anne's church at Wellen, and the Rev. Joseph M. Pound assistant pastor of the local church. The mass will be sung by St. Mary's Junior choir and Mrs. Kathryn Glenn. The funeral cortage will leave the John T. Brady home, 340 North Marion street, at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers will be Felix Evans, Clarence Glenn, John D. Moon, Mike Mier, Russell L. Fresh and Francis Mullin.
