Resident Of Ottumwa 72 Years Is Dead
Thomas Henness, 82, died at his home on Columbus street at 2:12 a.m. Monday. The son of Walter and Sarah Ann Henness, he was born in Wapello county April, 17, 1859. He lived in Ottumwa for 72 years. Surviving are a son, Walter Henness, Yakima Washington; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Cox, Des Moines, Mrs. Laura Foreman, Chicago, and Mrs. Ina Asbury, Ottumwa. Also surviving are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the Johnson funeral home awaiting completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Thomas Henness, 82, of Columbus street, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Johnson funeral chapel, with the Rev. L.E. Welshons of the First Church of the Open Bible. Burial will be in the McIntyre cemetery.
