Sister Mary Margaret Native Of Ottumwa
Sister Mary Margaret, who for the past year had been a grade school teacher at St. Patrick's parochial school, died at the St. Joseph hospital at 12:15 p.m. today. She had been ill since November. She was born November 16, 1897, the daughter of John and Margaret McGovern Walsh of Ottumwa. She has taught in several parishes in Iowa, including Des Moines, Marshalltown, Stuart and Ft. Madison. Surviving are two sisters, both in the convent. The are Sister Mary Antoinette of Parnell and Sister Mary Louise of Ottumwa, Also surviving are four brothers, Hugh of St. Louis, Jack and Joe of Cedar Rapids and W.P. Walsh of Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services for Sister Mary Margaret who died Thursday at the St. Joseph hospital, will be held from the chapel at the Ottumwa Heights college at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Father David, pastor at the chapel will celebrate a solemn requiem high mass. The Rev. J.H. Courtney will be deacon, the Rev. T.C. Donohoe sub-deacon, the Rev. George Rolland will deliver the sermon. Burial will be in Mr. Olive cemetery, on the academy grounds.
