L.E. Byrum, 52, Years An Ottumwan Dies.
L.E. (Ed) Byrum, 77, of 821 Queen Anne avenue, died at 9:45 a.m. at his home. He was a life long resident of Wapello county. Born September 11, 1864, he was the son of William and Sarah Byrum. He had lived in Ottumwa for 52 years. Mr. Byrum was a member of the Finley avenue Baptist church, and a member of lodge No. 269, A.F. and A.M. Surviving are two sons, L.E. Byrum Jr. of Middletown, Ohio, and H.L. Byrum of Ottumwa, two grandchildren, Mary and Robert Byrum of Middletown; two sisters Miss Maude Byrum of Ottumwa and Mrs. Nina Baer of Sheldon, Washington, and one brother William of Lead, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, July 5, 1928 and by one son, Harold. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.
