Mrs. Clara Orman, 66, wife of John Orman, died at her home 542 North Hancock street, today at 2:10 p.m. Mrs. Orman was the daughter of Jeff and Amanda Hawkins and was born in Davis county, February 3, 1874. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 38 years. Surviving are her husband; daughters, Mrs. Elsie Van Tassel, Mrs. Goldie Rhodes and Esther Carruthers of Ottumwa; sons, Thomas J., Lee, Clarence and Ray Orman of Ottumwa; mother Amanda Hawkins of Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren; brothers Joseph Hawkins of Ottumwa, and sisters, Mrs. Stella Houk and Mrs. Susie Hanna of Davenport and Mrs. Grace Albright of Blakesberg. She was preceded in death by daughters Mrs. Hazel Pittington and Miss Agnes Orman and her father. The casket will be taken to the home today at 6 p.m. from Johnson's funeral chapel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Orman, wife of John Orman who died at her home, 542 North Hancock street, Thursday at 2:10 a.m. will be held at Johnson's funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. L.E. Welshons of the Open Bible church will be in charge. Burial will be in Ormanville cemetery. The casket will be at the residence until 10 a.m. Sunday when it will be returned to the chapel. Pallbearers will be Bernie Houk, Clifford Albright, Jake I. Orman, John J. Orman, Charles Orman and Allen Thompson.
