Resident Of County For 73 Years Dies
David E. Eakins, 91, Succumbs Early Today.
David Edward Eakins 91, died at St. Joseph hospital today at 12:30 a.m. For the last year he had been living with his son, John A. Eakins, 333 Appanoose street. Mr. Eakins came to Iowa in 1868 and was married to Miss Catheryn Elizabeth Baumche February 18, 1872. Surviving are sons, John A. of Ottumwa, Dr. C.F. Eakins of Brush Co. James H. and Charles E. of Ottumwa, Jesse M. of Kansas City, and daughter Rosette of Venice Ca. Brother George of Ottumwa and 14 grandchildren.
Services for David Edward Eakins of 333 Appanoose street, who died at St. Joseph hospital Thursday, will be held in Johnson's funeral chapel Saturday at 1 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Claude R. Cook, pastor of the Willard Street Methodist church. Burial will be held in the Shaul cemetery.
