MRS. O.W. STOBER: DIED AT OTTUMWA, IOWA SATURDAY EVENING.
Mrs SARAH VICTORIA STOBER 41 years old, died at her home 246 South Walnut Avenue in Ottumwa, Iowa Saturday at 8:45 P.M.
She had been ill but a short time. She is survived by her husband OTIS W. STOBER, two sons and two daughters, MRS THELMA I EDWARDS; MRS BENIAH ARLENE STOBER; TRENTON C. STOBER and GLENN W. STOBER all of Ottumwa, Iowa. Her father J.F.H. CARY of Bloomfield, Iowa; a sister MRS BEULAH FOSTER of West Grove, Iowa and four brothers, DR. F.C. CAREY OF Hutchinson, Kansas, EARL CAREY of Bloomfield, Iowa; OTHELLO L. CAREY and BRYAN F. CAREY of Blakesburg, Iowa and an Uncle, THE REV. J.R. CAREY of Augusta, Kansas.
She was a member of the Lady Rebekah Lodge of Moulton, Iowa and a past noble grand of the organization. She was an active memeber of the Main Street Methodist Episcopal Church and was the teacher of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the First Methodist Church of Moulton, Iowa in charge of the Rev. A.A. Heath. The Rebekah Lodge of Moulton, Iowa assisted with the funeral services.
Mrs. Stober with her family resided in Bloomfield, Iowa some years ago. Mr and Mrs Stober at that time owned and operated a resaurant near the southwest courner of the square.Source of Info: Davis County, Iowa Paper 3/23/1930
SARAH VICTORIA CAREY was born in Davis County, Iowa in 1888, and died at her home in Ottumwa, Iowa Saturday, March 22, 1930 after an attack of pneumonia which lasted but a week. She was just past 41 years of age.
She was married to OTIS STOBER in 1906 and to this union four children were born. THELMA, and ARLEEN, and GLEN and TRENTON, all at home, who with the husband survives her.
She was a member ot the Main Street Methodist Church in Ottumwa and devoted her time to the church, striving to assist in the work of which she was so much a part. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Funeral services were held from the Moulton Methodist Church, Monday March 24, conducted by her pastor, Dr. Heath, who paid a glowing tribute to the life which had been so ardently devoted to God. Rev Rex Moulton pastor, assisted with the services. Burial was made at Oakland Cemetery Moulton, Iowa.
A large concourse of friends from Ottumwa, Iowa and Moulton Iowa attended the last sad rites to pay their respects to the woman who was known for her kindness and devotion of God.
The family formerly resided in Moravia, Iowa and have many friends who sympathize with them in their bereavement.
