Mrs. Carl Mowery
Mrs. Daisy Mowery, 88, died Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. at her home at 706 W. Fourth St. She had been ill several months.
The daughter of Daniel and Libby Hannon, she was born in Ottumwa on April 4, 1880, and lived here most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of the Altar and Rosary Society, the auxiliary to the Burlington Railroad Veterans Association and the auxiliary of the B. of R.T.
Her husband, Carl E. Mowery, died in 1957. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Katherine A. Canny of Ottumwa. She was an aunt of Mrs. Lowell Blew, Mrs. John Muchow and Michael, James and Charles Canny of Ottumwa and Mrs. James Stroud of Chariton.
The service will be held Friday at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. W.E. Cullinan celebrating a Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Members of the Knights of Columbus will be pallbearers. The Rosary will be recite Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Traul Funeral Home.
