William Elsensohn, 91, formerly of Agency, died today, November 19, 1976, at 2:25am at Sunnyslope Care Center. Born in Oct. 5, 1885 in Van Buren County to Joseph and Sarah Marshall Elsensohn, he was an Ottumwa resident most of his life. A 50 year and life member of the Knights of Pythias and the D.O.K.K. he was employed as a hardware salesman for Haw Hardware for 45 years, retiring in 1960. He married Letha Pool April 19, 1911. She died Jan. 25, 1968. Surviving are 5 daughters, Edna Ross of Portage, Indiana, Eileen Hendricks, Martha Farrington, and Veva Clary, all of Ottumwa, and Florence Hull of Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Fred Elsensohn of San Jacinto, California; and 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Grover. Services will be Saturday at 1:30pm at the Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. W.C. Trembly of the Agency United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The Ottumwa Courier
