Chloe A. Andeway

Chloe A. Andeway, 78, of Richland, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center at Fairfield.

A funeral is at 10 a.m. Monday at Ollie Baptist Church in Ollie. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery near Richland.

Visitation with family present is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont.

Mrs. Andeway was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Putnam County, Mo., the daughter of Pearl V. and Nola O. Hogue Ruggles. She married Richard Fritchen in 1953. He died in October 1988. She married Leonard Andeway at Ollie Baptist Church, Nov. 23, 1991.

She graduated from Pleasant Plain High School.

She graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield.

She taught second grade in Ollie, and from 1962 until 1995, she taught first grade at Pekin Community School.

In January 1996, she and her husband began wintering in Texas.

Her hobbies included handiwork, gardening, playing with her grandchildren and traveling.

She was a member of the Ollie Eastern Star, Ollie Baptist Church, Retired Teachers Association, Jefferson County Reading Association, Iowa Reading Association & National Education Association and Ollie Baptist Women's church group.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard, of Richland; four sons, Walter Fritchen and spouse Lori Siegrisk of Cedar Rapids, Brian Jay Fritchen and spouse Kathy of Fort Dodge, Jeffrey Andeway and spouse Mary Schill of Hedrick, and Kelly Andeway of Ollie; three daughters, Margaret Bosley of Kansas City, Mo., Suzanne Andeway of Boston, Mass., and Denise Nelson and spouse John of Richland; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roger Ruggles of Alamo, Texas.

In addition to her first husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Fritchen.
