Obituary From “Ottumwa Daily Courier,” Friday, January 25, 1918:

John Goettlieb Kogge.

The funeral of John Goettlieb Kogge, who was asphyxiated yesterday by escaping gas, will be held at Sullivan’s chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by the Rev. A.A. Heath of the Main Street M.E. church, and will be taken by the 3:30 train to the Agency cemetery for burial.

According to a wish of the deceased, the funeral arrangements were made by Miss Lottie Allen. All friends are asked to be present.
