Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” January 4, 1979:

Weedon S. Dickerson, 79, of 2281 W. Samantha, died Jan. 3 at 9:45 p.m.

A retired employee of the City Public Works Department, he was born April 7, 1899, in Ottumwa, to William and Anna Dawson Dickerson. He was a lifetime Ottumwa resident. He married Lela R. Williams Aug. 19, 1925, in Montana. Survivors: his wife; three sons, William of Phoenix, Ariz., Lawrence of Denver, Colo., and John of Ottumwa; one daughter, Dorothy Walk of Mountain Home, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and two sisters and one brother.

Services: pending at Johnson Funeral Chapel.

Services for Weedon S. Dickerson, 79, of 2281 W. Samantha, who died the evening of Jan. 3, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. A.D. Pringle of Ottumwa Baptist Temple officiating.

Burial: Shaul Cemetery.

Pallbearers: James Rath, James and Michael Kitterman, Warren Pilcher, Burt Ranes and Leslie Albertson.

The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
