Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” November 26, 1951:

Mrs. Fannie E. Snyder, 79, of Ottumwa, died Sunday at 3:10 a.m. while visiting in the home of her son, Thomas J. Snyder of St. Joseph, Ill.

The daughter of Christopher H. and Esther Prosser, she was born November 25, 1872, in Ottumwa and had been a resident here for 69 years prior to going to St. Joseph, Ill., three months ago. Her marriage to Arthur T. Snyder took place June 9, 1897, in Ottumwa. She was a member of the Willard Street Methodist church.

Mrs. Snyder is survived by one son, Thomas J. Snyder of St. Joseph, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Ogier of Ottumwa; several grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Swift of Ottumwa, Mrs. Gara Belles of Blakesburg route 2 and Mrs. Bonnie Schwarzenbach of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her husband June 16, 1936; by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

The body was brought to the Johnson funeral chapel here today where services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Myron Hayes of the Willard Street Methodist church. Burial will be in the Zion cemetery south of Ottumwa.
