Ann Comer, 59, Pella

PELLA - Helen Ann Comer, 59, of Pella, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 2:23 a.m. February 19, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born October 15, 1953 in Ottumwa to Michael Edward and Patricia Helen Claver Comer.

A 1971 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Ann had attended Indian Hills Community College. She had been employed at Pella Corps. for over 30 years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pella. Ann enjoyed taking care of her dogs, Scooby Door and Mike, drawing and riding her horse and motorcycles.

Surviving are her parents, Mike and Pat Comer of Ottumwa; Jerry Nicholson of Peoria, IL, who had lived in her parents’ home and an uncle, Bernard Casebolt of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; an uncle, John Comer; four aunts, May Casebolt, Patty Casebolt, Helen Tierney and Marjorie Hull.

Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Friday at Reece funeral Home. A Christian Wake will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by family visitation until 8 p.m.
