Mary E. Sullivan

The death of Miss Mary E. Sullivan following a lingering illness, took place Sunday afternoon shortly after 4 o'clock at her home, 1104 East Second street.

Miss Sullivan was born on the outskirts of Cincinnati, Ohio, 46 years ago, but spent practically all of her life in Ottumwa where she has a large number of friends. For the past four months she has battled against the inevitable, finally giving up the fight about 4:15 Sunday. The members of her family were about her bedside when death came.

The survivors are her mother, Mrs. Mary Sullivan, four sisters, Mrs. James Ryan of Chicago, Mrs. James Barry and Mrs. James McNicholas of Ottumwa and Mrs. Kate Simmons of Keokuk. A brother Eugene Sullivan of Ottumwa also survives.

The funeral will take place from the Sacred Heart church of which the decedent was a faithful attendant, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Requiem mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father James Foley. Interment in Calvary cemetery.
