Charles Richard Roberts, 74, of 117 W. Rochester, Ottumwa, died November 9, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born January 13, 1940 in Jefferson County, IA to Bernard Joseph and Margaret A. Sasseen Roberts. He married Karen Baker in September of 1958 in Richland. He later married Cynthia Pearson on May 26, 1978 in Ottumwa.
A 1957 graduate of Pleasant Plain High School, Dick worked in the automotive business from 1960 to 1994. During his retirement years he worked for BP (Elliott Oil) and he worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts where he greatly enjoyed delivering parts.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Surviving is his wife, Cindy; his children, Lori (Matt) Kayser of Agency, Steve (Lisa) Roberts of Richland, Jason (Casey) Roberts of Des Moines, Elizabeth (Randy Fridley) Roberts and Kathryn Roberts both of Ottumwa; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Roberts of Milton, WI and Frank Roberts of San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His body has been cremated.
Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hilgendorf presiding.
A Christian Wake will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home followed by family visitation until 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, 927 Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501.
