Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Thursday, April 30, 1970:

Ted Hasting, 69, of Rio Linda, Calif., a former Ottumwan, died in a Sacramento, Calif., hospital at 10 a.m. April 23. He was a retired employe of Guest Bros Plumbing & Heating Co. here.

The son of Francis M. and Ada Stains Hasting, he was born at Sullivan, Ill., May 23, 1900. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for many years, prior to moving to California about five years ago. He was a member of the Nazarene Church in Sacramento.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Green of Rio Linda; five grandchildren and one great-grandson and one brother, Frank Hasting of Ottumwa. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

The body has arrived at Johnson Funeral Chapel here where the service will be at 3 p.m. Friday. The Rev. B.L. Robinson Jr. of Zion Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chester, Steve and David Belger, John Venator, Cofer Artman and Duane McMaster.
