Mrs. Mary Margaret Whelen 75, of 156 North Willard Street; widow of Michael Whalen died Tuesday at 12:40 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born Oct. 21, 1870 in Betheleham, PA., she has lived in Ottumwa since 1882.

Mrs. Whelan was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Reardon. She was married Oct. 5, 1890 to Mr. Whelan who preceded her in death.

She is survived by eight sons; Eugene of Random Lake, WISC., Lawrence of Omaha, Vernon of Cedar Rapids, Clement of Culver City, CA., O.Farrel of Ottumwa,Lewis of Council, Bluffs, Michael of Fullerton, CA., and Gerald of Culver City, CA. four sisters; Mrs. L.C. Morrison, Julia Reardon, Frances Reardon, and Anna Reardon; all of Ottumwa;two brothers; Eugene Reardon of Ottumwa, and John Reardon of Enid, OK.; 18 grandchildren and one great~grand child.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Traul Funeral Chapel, and 9:00 at St. Patrick's Church in charge of the Rev. T.C. Donohoe officiating. The body was removed from the funeral home today to the home. Members of St. Patrick's Parish and the Rosary society will meet at the home at 8:00 tonight to recite the rosary. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Gibbons, A.J. Schwartz, C.P. Leinhouser, Albert Stoessel, George Moyer, and Martin O'Hara.
