Ethel Marie Williams, age 65 of Albia, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014, at Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Ethel was born December 2, 1948, to Robert James and Margaret Mae(Wilcoxson)Nupp in Wapello County. She married Glenn Williams on July 4,l 1976. They shared almost 29 years of marriage before Glenn's passing on July 4, 2004.

Ethel grew up and attended Country School in Hiteman. She worked as a cook at Tony's Steakhouse and Restaurant in Albia. She also worked at Kitterman's Grocery in Albia. Ethel worked as a CNA at the Albia Manor until 1975, the Albia Hospital, and then retired from the Monroe Care Center in 2005.

Ethel loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing food for family gatherings at different holiday times.

Ethel is survived by her children, Kenneth Nupp, Raymond Keith, Glenn Williams Jr., Roger Williams Sr., and Linda Williams; 9 grandchildren, Deanna(Dustin)Smith, Roger Jr. (Amy)Williams, Casarah Williams, Jennifer(Travis)Dhamers, Rebecca Williams, Talia Nupp, Kendra Nupp, Nate Keith and Tyler Keith; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Debbie Nelson of Albia; a brother, Joe(Tina)Nupp of Albia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Dorothy Williams and Betty Keith; and three brothers, Norman, Perry and Donald Nupp.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, February 24, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia; with Pastor Richard Grimes officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Corners Cemetery in rural Monroe County. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Sunday, February 23, 2014, at the Tharp Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Monday, February 24, 2014, one hour prior to the service with Ethel's family present. Memorials may be made to Ethel's family.
