Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” March 15, 1957:

Mrs. M.R. Baker, 63, of Des Moines, formerly of Ottumwa, died Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Iowa Methodist hospital. She had been ill for some time with a heart ailment.

Graveside services were held in Ottumwa this afternoon at the Shaul cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Carey Christy, pastor of Plymouth Congregational church.

Mrs. Baker was the former Sybil Walker, daughter of Zack and Harriett Walker, and was born in Ottumwa January 23, 1894. She had lived in Des Moines for 37 years. She was married March 6, 1912, in Ottumwa to Marvin R. Baker.

Surviving are her husband, Marvin Baker; one son, Jack M. Baker of Des Moines; two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Jim Poling of San Gabriel, Calif.
