Don Fickle

Don Fickle, 76, of 836 Hackberry, died at 9 a.m. today at his home. He had been in failing health for the past two years.

Mr. Fickle retired from the Burlington Railroad in 1954 after 32 years of service.

The son of Joseph and Bertha Stillwell Fickle, he was born in Stockport, Oct. 12, 1889. He had lived in Ottumwa since 1922.

His marriage to Leona Schillerstrom took place April 16, 1916, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Howard Fickle of Casper, Wyo., and Paul D. Fickle of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Farrington of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Zella Archibald of Hamilton, Ill., Mrs. Mina Beggs of Milton, Mrs. Dott McIntosh of Inglewood, Calif., and Mrs. Georgia McIntosh of Fostyth, Mo.

The body is at Jay Funeral Home.

Fickle Service

The service for Don Fickle, 76, of 836 Hackberry who died Wednesday morning at his home, will b Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jay Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry Lansman of First Baptist Church will be in charge.

Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
