Martin Sylvester Neff was born
January 14, 1866, in Jonesville, Hills-
dale county, Michigan, and departed
this life May 26, 1924, aged 58 years,
4 months and 12 days. When a small
boy he moved with his parents to
Sigourney, where he lived for many
years. On March 3, 1886, he was
united in marriage to Clara Virginia
Stuart of Sigourney. To this union
two children were born, one dying in
infancy. He is survived by his widow
and son Homer M. and a grandson,
Homer E., both of Minneapolis, Minn.;
two brothers, Charles of Webster City,
Iowa, and James of Tomahawk, Wis.,
and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Hart of
Ames and Mrs. Elizabeth Clark of
San Francisco, Cal. His father and
mother and two sisters preceded him
in death.
The funeral services were held at
the home, 606 Boone avenue, Ottum-
wa, May 31, 1924, at 2:30 o'clock, con-
ducted by H. O. McCall.--Contributed.
