MARK LEON "LEE" DENNIS 85 of 417 North Sheridan Ave. died today at 4:40 A.M. at Elsie's Nursing Home at 1021 Hackberry Street following a long illness.

He was the son of John E. and Sarah McCormick Dennis and was born January 4, 1873 in Searsboro, Iowa. A former railroad mechanic he had lived in Wapello County for 82 years and in Ottumwa for the last 32 years.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. La Verne Morris; pastor of the Davis Street Christian church will be in charge. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery at Highland Center.
