Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Monday, November 1, 1920:

CHARLES S. GARDNER

Charles S. Gardner died last night at the age of 64 years at the home of his sister, Mrs. Gilbert McGill, 101 South Ward street. Beside Mrs. McGill, he is survived by another sister, Mrs. Amanda Gilbert of Harding, S. D., and three brothers, Perry of Rex, Tom of Caldwell, and Oscar of Agency.

The funeral will be held tomorrow evening at 8 o’clock at the McGill residence. Rev. U.E. Burroughs will officiate. The body will be taken to Douds, Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock, where burial will be held.
