GATES--Tuesday, May 6, 1913, Elsie Gates, at 2:15, at the home of her brother, Roy Gates, 182 North Moore street. Death resulted from tuberculosis. The deceased was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, and was past 19 years of age at the time of her death. She had lived in Ottumwa for the past seventeen years. Besides her mother, Mrs. Sara Gates, three brothers and two sisters survive. The are Clyde, Charlie ,and Roy Gates, Miss Hallie Gates and Mrs. Ollie Rhoades.
The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the South Ottumwa Baptist church. Sidney Catherman, former superintendent of the Rescue mission, will have charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
