.
Tyrone—James P., the third son of James J. and Bridget O'Neill was born near Tyrone, la., March 5, 1890, and died at Hiteman, Iowa, January 0, 1911, age 20 years, 10 months and 1 day. For the past two and one-half years he had employment with the Wapello Coal Co. as section foreman which position he held at the time of his death.
Three weeks ago he was confined to his bed with pneumonia and all that medical skill and kind and loving hands could do were done for him. It was thought he was improving and would get well, but Friday morning he became worse and the spark of life that he had so patiently and hopefully struggled for flickered out and his soul passed to the great beyond. James was a young man of sterling qualities and of a kind and loving disposition and to know him was to like him. He numbered his friends by his acquaintance. Besides a sorrowing father and mother he leaves the following brothers and sisters to mourn: John J., of Tracey, la. Frank P. of Hiteman Thomas Michael, Daniel, Connie, Mary, Annie and Katie, one brother having preceded him, dying in infancy. Funeral services were held from St. Patrick's church at Georgetown conducted by his pastor Rev. Father Treacy, Interment being made in the cemetery at Georgetown. The A. O. U. W. of which the deceased was a member, had charge of the services at the grave. The bereaved ones have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.—Contributed.
