HADLEY BARTON, AN EARLY RESIDENT, DIED AT NOON TODAY FROM OLD AGE.
After having lived ninety-four years of usefulness, Hadley Barton, old resident of Ottumwa, passed away this noon at his home, 2016 East Main Street. His death was caused largely by his advanced age. The deceased was born in Cayuga County, New York, January 18, 1816. He was married to Miss Jane Cross in Fredonja, N. Y., June 22, 1850. He had resided in- Wapello County forty-six year. He is survived by his wife and six children, Frank Barton, Lee Barton, E. O. Barton and Charles Barton of Ottumwa, Mrs. Ida Losier of Ottumwa and Mrs. Ada Polson of California, The funeral will be held from the residence Sunday at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. H. Hormel, of the East End Presbyterian church. Interment will be made in Ottumwa cemetery.
The last sad rites over the remains of Hadley Barton, the nonagenarian, who died Friday at his home, 2015East Main street, were held from the family residence yesterday afternoon. Rev W. H. Hormel of the East End Presbyterian church conducted the services. Burial was made in the Ottumwa cemetery.
