OTTUMWAN FOUND DEAD WITH GUNSHOT WOUND IN FOREHEAD NEAR BILLINGS MONT.
Mystery surrounds the death of Archibald Logan, a resident of Ottumwa, who was found dead three miles east of Billings, Montana, Tuesday, November 22, with a bullet hole in his forehead. The remains of the unfortunate man arrived today on the Burlington and were taken to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Rose Kent, 112 South Moore Street, where funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. S. Isaac Elder of the Davis Street Christian church. Interment will be made in Shaul cemetery.
According to the word received from Billings, Mont., and from information accompanying the corpse, Logan's death occurred on November 22. His prostrate body with the gunshot wound was found near Billings, and despite investigation of the Montana officials, how he came to his death is unknown. In company with his brother, Logan left for Billings, several weeks ago with considerable money, intending to invest in western land. Friends in the city who have been informed of his tragic death believe that he was murdered for his money. Logan had many relatives residing south of Ottumwa.
