Mrs. Sarah M. Bass Baker, 71, of 245 S. Davis St., died in the St. Joseph hospital Sunday at 11:30 PM. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Bass and was born in England, August 24, 1864. She came the United States when she was 13 years of age settling at Danville, Illinois. She had lived in Ottumwa for the last 50 years. Surviving are one son, Charles Bass of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Annie Searfoss of Chicago, Illinois, and one brother, Charles Swan of Danville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 PM at Johnson's funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. A. D. McClure. Burial be made in the Ottumwa cemetery.
