Charles Rich, 50, Succumbs Today
Ottumwa Merchant For 19 Years Had Been Ill Several Months; Funeral Today.
Charles Rich, 50, of 414 E. Main St., retail clothier here for the last 19 years, died at 8:15 PM Sunday in the Ottumwa hospital. He was born in Russia, May 22, 1886, coming to the United States 36 years ago. He had been in the cigar business in Chicago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chicago, the Royal Arch Masons of Ottumwa, Eastern Star Lodge, No. 112, Wapello White Shrine, No. 4, and the, Kaaba Shrine, Davenport. Mr. Rich been ill for several months. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; his father, Samuel Ridge of Rock Island, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Freda Zifren of Rock Island and Mrs. Mary Geifman of Ottumwa, and two brothers. Meyer D. Rich of Ottumwa and Harry of Rock Island. Funeral services were held at 2 PM today at Davenport with burial beside his mother in the Jewish cemetery there
