Ottumwa Courier June 9, 1936

Miss Eva J. Thompson, 81 died at 10 AM Monday at the home of her sister Mrs. Lacey M. Simpson, Lansing, Kansas, according to word received by her brother James Thompson of Kirkville. She was a former resident of Kirkville. Miss Thompson was born in Mohawk Valley, Ohio, June 28, 1854. Her sister and brother survive. The body will arrive in Ottumwa Tuesday night and be taken to the Lester Jay funeral home awaiting completion of funeral arrangements. Burial will be made in the Ottumwa cemetery Thursday.
